Below is a list of some of the Pattaya hotels that I’ve stayed in. I’ve picked these based on location and cost, I hate having to spend loads on taxi fees if I can help it and would rather spend a little more on the hotel to be closer to the action. Also as you will see, these are also friendly on the wallet.
Sawasdee Sea View
I first stayed here many years ago, and it really hasn’t changed that much! What I like about the Sawasdee Sea View is how close to the beach it is, just across the road and you are there. It’s also within walking distance of the shopping malls and Pattaya Walking Street.
The hotel does lack a swimming pool, so this might be a deal breaker for some But they do have a small restaurant and bar area, free WiFi, room service and a 24hr front desk.
I would personally go for a superior room over a standard room as I found the standard rooms to be on the small size. If you’re a solo traveller and just looking for a place to dump your stuff and crash your head, the standard rooms will do just fine. If you are going as a couple you’ll be thankful for the extra space the superior room has to offer.
For me, it was the 90ft pool that I loved about this hotel, and if you read some of the other reviews out there, they say the same thing. Nothing like having a lazy afternoon by the pool.
While I would stay at the Basaya Beach Hotel & Resort again I do have to say that I wish they would spend some money on this place. It’s in a really good location, you have the beach over the road, near shops and some nightlife. It is starting to look old so when booking ask for one of the newer rooms – They were starting to renovate rooms at my last stay.
That being said, I enjoyed my stay here. The restaurant out the front made some good food, you have free WiFi in the rooms, you can play a game of table tennis or badminton and even get a Thai massage.
